HH-60 qualification. Today I got qualified in the HH-60 MEDEVAC aircraft. It is a variation of the UH-60L but it has adaptations that make it better suited to medical evacuation. The fist thing you notice about the aircraft is that it has no crew chief windows. This is because gunners are not required and the crew chief assists the medic in the back. The second difference you notice is the bulb on the front end. This is for the Forward Looking Infared (FLIR) that gives enhanced vision to the pilots for search and rescue and in bad weather. The aircraft also has some modernized navigation and communications system that use digital displays instead of analog. The final difference is the back is outfitted with oxygen systems, hoist, and stretchers so that medics can operate on the patients as they fly.

That's a pretty sweet bird. How many different types are you qualified to fly now?
