Sometimes people have accidents
When you mess up in Army Aviation the Safety Center wants to know every little detail. We classify accidents by dollar value starting with a Class A, which is above $2,000,000 in damages down to a Class F, which is basically nothing. It is actually not that hard to get up above $1,000,000 in damages. Aviation parts cost a lot. In Combat those accidents can be magnified, especially when something goes wrong away from home. This is because the Army has to invest a large amount of time and effort to recover their aircraft. This picture is of one of those "magnified accidents" that happened off the base several months ago. It is a UH-60 being slung by a CH-47.

One of my coworkers would love this - he flies Chinooks for his real job.
You'd like him too, he's a great guy.
