We finally arrived at the last leg of our amazing Kentucky-Alaska-Ireland-Kuwait flight where we get to wait for another couple of days before we flow into country. The tower behind me is the old one at Kuwait International Airport (KIA) which was featured prominently in all of the night shots during Gulf Storm when they the Allies were shooting down SCUD missiles. We had to take about a two hour bus ride up to Camp Beuhring were we stayed. IT was late at night so we couldn't really see anything, Not that there is really all that much to see anyway. All of the Iraq veterans were impressed that the road that we took up to the camp was now paved. They remembered the last time they were there the buses drove a top speed across the open desert. Kuwait was a little colder than I expected, but it felt good to be outside in the fresh air again since we only got to walk around in the terminal in Shannon, Ireland.
