49

The weather in January. Although I brought literally a foot locker stuffed with winter clothing I have used very little of it. Mostly because we spend very little time outside in the elements. I am either walking to the helicopter or walking to the office. Some of the crew chiefs wear four and five layers, but the heater works sporadically in the back. Bagram sits at about 5,000 feet and we actually have received less snow than I did at Fort Campbell last year. However, if you go up a few thousand feet, like the mountains around us, you can see that they keep a couple of feet of snow pretty much all winter long.
