Disney Drive. You know how sometimes you hear about a place and develop this image in your mind of how it is going to look, and then you get there and it looks nothing like that. Well, in Bagram that is definitely Disney Drive. I was prepared for how the housing would look, how the DFAC would be set up, and how the showers would be situated well before I left. But when you arrive in Afghanistan, and you have had a long trip, and you really just want to find a place you can dump all your gear, they start referencing Disney Drive as this huge landmark. They tell you that personnel, AAFES, the cafeterias, everything about Bagram is right off Disney. You expect some huge four lane modern road, and you finally get to it, and it is a double wide golf cart path. Don't get me wrong, as you can see there is plenty of traffic. Juts not what you expected. Oh, and it is not named for Walt, but for a young service member that gave his life for our country.
